Born and raised in Allen, Texas, Cameron Steen grew up with a passion for sports, developing a deep appreciation for the dedication and mental strength required to succeed at the highest levels. He played competitive hockey through the AAA and junior levels before fully transitioning into coaching, where he found his true calling. Before fully dedicating himself to hockey development, Cameron coached under Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson and helped over 20 NCAA Division I football players achieve their dreams of reaching the NFL. This early experience working with elite athletes shaped his coaching philosophy around discipline, mental toughness, and personal growth.

Transitioning into hockey full-time, Cameron founded Steen Sports Systems LLC, offering elite hockey training programs designed to bridge the gap between Texas hockey and opportunities at the AAA, junior, and collegiate levels. His programs emphasize small-group development, advanced skills training, hockey IQ, and mentorship. Through his camps, clinics, and tournament teams, Cameron has helped numerous players advance to top AA and AAA programs, junior hockey, and collegiate opportunities across North America. Players from his programs have gone on to become first-round USHL Draft picks and continue their careers in the NAHL, NCDC, and NCAA Division I levels.

In addition to operating Steen Sports Systems, Cameron runs a premier summer hockey school that attracts Tier 1, Tier 2 Junior hockey, and AAA hockey coaches from across the country. His summer programs are designed to provide players with elite-level instruction, leadership development, and exposure to coaches with junior and collegiate ties.

Cameron also serves as a scout in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), helping identify and develop talent for one of the top junior leagues in the United States. His scouting role provides valuable insight into what it takes for players to move up to higher levels, further strengthening his commitment to a detailed, individualized development approach.

Throughout his coaching journey, Cameron has had the opportunity to learn from and work under some of the top minds in the game, including two NHL Development Coaches. His experiences at the highest levels have reinforced his belief in a player-first model built on accountability, mental performance, and personal growth.

Cameron is currently continuing his education, pursuing a degree in Sport and Child Psychology, further enhancing his ability to take a sport psychology-driven approach to coaching. His coaching philosophy emphasizes leadership, mental performance, accountability, and building strong character both on and off the ice.

Driven by a passion to give back to the community that helped shape his own journey, Cameron is committed to helping young players advance their careers and achieve their dreams, both in hockey and beyond. He is excited to bring his passion, energy, and developmental expertise to the Texas Warriors family and looks forward to helping every player reach their full potential.
