Chris Burns

Coach Burns was born in raised in Canada and has been involved in competitive hockey his entire life. After a solid Junior career, which included a Canadian National Championship in 1992, and being drafted by the San Jose Sharks that summer, he attended Denver University on a scholarship. Unfortunately an injury ended his playing career in 1994. After a hiatus from the game he began coaching travel hockey in 2002 and spent several years coaching at 8u and 10u in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After moving to Texas in 2017, he began as a goalie coach with the McKinney Northstars and then took over as the Head Coach of the 12AA Northstars team. Last season, his first with the Warriors program, he was the Head Coach of the 16A team. Coach Burns looks forward to working with the Warriors 14A team this season and is excited to help develop the core group as they transition to full contact hockey.

Coach Burns lives in Celina, Texas with his wife Chelsea. He has two boys. Jaxson (22) who is in his 4th year of Vet school at Tarleton State University, and Dane, who was a draft pick of the Kansas City Royals this past summer and currently pitches at Mississippi State University.
