Board Position Descriptions
TEXAS WARRIOR BOARD POSITION DESCRIPTIONS
Executive Board – These board positions are elected by the general membership and are voting members of the Board of Directors. All members of the executive board are expected to attend regular and specially called board meetings and to volunteer during tryouts on an annual basis. Terms are for one year beginning on September 1 and ending on August 31.
President – To be eligible for President, member must have at least one-year prior experience as an Executive Board Member for the Texas Warriors.
- Responsible for the general management and supervision of the affairs and operations of the Texas Warriors in conjunction with the Hockey Director
- Presides over all regular and specially called board meetings
- Serves as a co-signatory on all check disburse by the organization
- Serves as the official signatory for approval contracts and agreements
- Represent the organization in the Dallas Stars Travel Hockey League meetings or appoint a board member to attend in their absence.
- Perform other duties determined as necessary by the organization
Vice President
- The Vice President will serve in the absence of the President or whenever the President is unable to serve
- Oversee the Team Managers by acting as a liaison between the team managers and the Executive Board
- Oversee the Safe Sport Coordinator
- Oversee the Concussion Coordinator
- Oversee the Apparel Coordinator
- Maintain and enforce the bylaws
- Perform other duties determined as necessary by the organization
Treasurer
- Responsible for managing and documenting all monies collected and disbursed by the organization
- Be the signatory officer on the organization’s financial accounts
- Oversees and maintains the annual budget
- Responsible for all fiscal matters of the organization
- Present a report of financials at each executive board meeting
- Prepare year-end financial statements
- Responsible for arranging the filing of all required tax returns with any governmental authorities
- Prepare the annual Financial Disclosure Documents as required by TAHA
- Oversee the Fundraising and Sponsorship Coordinator
- Perform other duties determined as necessary by the organization
Secretary
- Responsible for maintaining a written record of all proceedings and voting actions of the Executive Board and maintain a permanent file of such records
- Assist the President in the scheduling of meetings
- Update official documents of the organization as necessary
- Responsible for creating the annual survey along with the rest of the executive board
- Responsible for creating the annual board of directors election interest form and ballot
- Perform other duties determined as necessary by the organization
Director of Communications - Member at-Large
- Responsible for overseeing all communication provided by various platforms and ensuring consistency
- Oversee the Social Media/Public Relations Coordinator and assist as needed
- Oversee Special Events Coordinator and assist as needed
- Oversee the Webmaster and assist as needed
- Coordinate Team Photos
- Perform other duties determined as necessary by the organization

Other Volunteers – These positions are appointed by the Executive Board. Anyone in the general membership for the current season is eligible to express interest in one or more of these positions.
Apparel Coordinator
- Provide reports to the Vice President
- Work with designated apparel provider to select uniform and spirit items offered for sale to members
- Work with designated apparel provider to order coaches apparel, line jerseys, and tryout day give away on behalf of the organization
- Responsible for finding volunteers to assist with apparel fitting during tryouts
- Responsible for coordinating distribution of player apparel with Team Managers
Concussion Coordinator
- Provide reports to the Vice President
- Responsible for collecting return to play documentation for all players with a reported concussion
- Concussion baseline testing??
Fundraising and Sponsorship Coordinator
- Responsible for securing sponsorships with approval from the executive board
- Responsible for overseeing any organization wide or individual team fundraising efforts – must obtain approval from the executive board before initiation
- Provide reports to the Treasurer
Registrar
- Responsible for creating official USA Hockey and DSTHL rosters
- Responsible for assigning jersey numbers in accordance of organization guidelines
- Communicate assigned numbers to the Team Managers and Apparel Coordinator
- Work with the Webmaster to get rosters updated in Sports Engine and the Website
- Provide reports to the Vice President
Safe Sport Coordinator
- Provide reports to the Vice President
- Ensure that all volunteers and players on 18UAA have completed Safe Sport training prior to the beginning of the season
- Responsible for being organization point of contact for Safe Sport violation inquiries
Social Media/Public Relations Coordinator
- Provide reports to Director of Communications
- Responsible for maintaining all social media accounts of behalf of the organization
- Solicit updates from Team Managers to provide a balanced approach to social media posts
Special Events Coordinator
- Provide reports to Director of Communications
- Responsible for planning and execution of Special Events that may occur before, during or after the season (ex: Warrior Day, End of Season Banquet, golf tournament, attendance at group events)
Webmaster
- Provide reports to Director of Communications
- Responsible for maintaining the organization website
- Responsible for maintaining Sports Engine
